Radon Testing Info
Our radon testing is done using 48 hour continuous air monitoring radon machines by RadStar. Our radon testing is done by certified radon technicians. Once the radon testing machines are set they must run 48 hours to be a legitiment test of the property conditions. The radon machine will be picked up at the end of the 48 hour period and the test results will be sent to the client that day. (Usually in the evening)
Q: Once the home inspection is complete, how long before I will get the results?
A: Unless agreed upon in advance, you can expect to get the home inspection report the same day it was performed. If you chose to have a radon test however, these results will take a little longer. Radon testing takes 48 hours to complete. Once completed, we will provide those results to you.
Q: What should I look for in a home inspector?
A: First and foremost, a Home Inspector should be licensed by the state in which they live. Being licensed means that the inspector completed the minimum course requirements and successfully passed the home inspector examination. Secondly, although there is not a requirement that an inspector or someone on the inspection team have construction knowledge/experience, it would be a valuable asset, especially when dealing with questions regarding inspection results such as those related to foundation or structural issues.
Q: Do I need to be present for the home inspection?
A: It is not a requirement to be present although it is a good idea. Home inspectors report all defects that they find, no matter how small. If you are present to see what the actual defect is, it may give you a different perspective and you won’t need to worry about it later. You can also get to know the inspector and observe the inspection quality.
Q: How much will my inspection cost?
A: The cost of the inspection depends on several things such as the square footage and age of the home. There is also an additional cost for radon and mold testing. We are confident that you will find our prices are very competitive. Please call our call center for additional information regarding pricing and schedule availability.
